I'm Maggie, a twenty-something on a journey toward the perfect ball of yarn. I grew up in New Jersey & received my undergraduate degree in history & literature from American University in Washington, DC.
I finished my first knitting project – a garter stitch scarf in a horribly fluffy dark red yarn – in March 2006, and I’ve been addicted ever since. Some time along the way, I taught myself to crochet, and fell in love with that art, too. I’ve made more hats than I ever intend to wear and more cowls and scarves and shawls than I can count. I'm also a sewer who inherited her mother's old sewing machine with its perpetually-falling-off presser foot.
I drink too much iced coffee, love to wear tights in the winter, and can never decide on my current favorite color. This blog began as a way to share what I love with the world - with the hope that there was somebody out there willing to read it! Join me as I write about my delightfully chaotic life.
(Oh, and I have no idea where that red scarf ended up.)
